Gamewell-FCI Expands Fire Suppression Capabilities to Support New Standard

Gamewell-FCI by Honeywell  now offers a Conventional Agent Release Control Panel (Flex GR506R) that can provide powerful fire protection, while simultaneously controlling the release of one or two fire suppression agents. The Flex GR506R panel is compatible with nearly 40 releasing control devices for as many as 12 sprinkler and fire suppression agents, and is currently one of only two UL-Listed releasing systems for the new aerosol suppression agents growing in popularity since the NFPA’s (National Fire Protection Association) introduction of its 2010 Standard for Fixed Aerosol Fire-Extinguishing Systems.

Hitachi Cable announces the release of Active Optical HDMI cables suitable for extended distances.

Hitachi Cable, Ltd. has announced the development and release of extended distance Active Optical HDMI cables*1 which transmit image signals such as full HD*2, 3D, and 4K2K*3 through optical fibers for digital signage. Sales of this product will start in June.

Digital signage, in which large format high definition thin displays are used as signboards, has become common in recent years in public and commercial facilities. The cables used in digital signage must be compatible with high speed interfaces such as HDMI in order to display high resolution images. Unlike ordinary consumer household metal HDMI cables that have short transmission lengths of 10 meters or less, commercial signage applications require long transmission distances, and in some cases requires UL Plenum rated cable.
