Telenet VoIP provides state of the art network Infrastructure for LA Lakers’ new training facility

Los Angeles Lakers’ new practice facility will be called the UCLA Health Training Center, according to the team. The Lakers announced this and other new details about their currently under construction facility on Wednesday, including that the team hopes to have it completed by the Summer of 2017 and that the new building “will house the business and basketball operations as well as a full NBA training center with an exhibition court and arena seating.”

DMP Virtual Keypad 3.5.0 App Now Supports User Code Management and Panel Access

Available from the Apple® Store for XT/XTL Series Panels

With the latest upgrade to the DMP Virtual Keypad app, users gain expanded capabilities when using their app.  The following features have been added: User Code Management and Panel Access specific to app users.

Users at a Master Level (only) can now Add, Edit and Delete users of XT and XTL Series Control Panels operating with Version 117 or higher software. User names up to 16 characters are supported with up to 30 users on the XTL/XT30 panels and up to 99 on the XT50.


User Authority Settings Include:

  • Areas to Arm/Disarm
  • Master user selection
  • Temporary Code (user is auto deleted in 7 days)
  • Arm only (no disarming authority)

The above feature is in addition to the existing upgrades to the DMP Virtual Keypad App: User Code Prompt, Push Notifications and History Tab. The User Code Prompt is required to open the app, unless it is saved. Enabling Push Notifications allows alarm events such as Alarms, Troubles, Arming/Disarming and Sensor Activity to appear on the users iPhone or iPad, whether via an alert or banner.

TIA revising specification for cabling wireless access points

The revision of TSB-162 will take into account the possibility that next-generation wireless LAN data rates may exceed 7 Gbits/sec.

When the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA; www.tiaonline.org) finalized the specifications in Telecommunications Systems Bulletin TSB-162 Telecommunications Guidelines for Wireless Access Points, the year was 2005 and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE; www.ieee.org) had not yet finalized its 802.11n wireless local area network (LAN) specifications. Today 802.11n equipment is widely deployed in enterprise networks, and its multiple-input/multiple-output (MIMO) signaling scheme generates transmission speeds that can reach hundreds of Megabits per second.

Mitel Integrates Vidyo Video Conferencing Solutions Into UC Suite

Mitel Communications is bringing video capabilities to its unified communications offerings by integrating Vidyo’s software-based video and telepresence solutions across its entire line of collaboration products.

Mitel also is making Vidyo’s solutions part of its cloud-based communications offering, MiCloud.

The integration of Vidyo’s technology, announced June 25, fills a critical gap in Mitel’s unified communications and collaboration (UC&C) offerings, according to Ron Wellard, executive vice president and general manager of Mitel.
